Hotel towels usually end up back in the laundry after only a short period of use. This repetitive cycle of use and care stresses the textiles, but especially the seams. Floringo terry is prepared for fraying hems – thanks to a special fabric construction and double seams. These ensure high durability and a long service life in industrial laundering.
Enjoying white towels – avoiding waste of resources
The common daily exchange of hotel towels – often even unused terry items – puts heavy strain on the textiles and leads to avoidable consumption of water, energy, and detergents in the laundry. Many hotels have therefore reduced their replacement frequency and ask guests to reuse towels: "Please help us save water, energy, and detergent." Given an average stay of two days, this is a realistic contribution – after all, it works at home too.
However, when it comes to conserving resources, the focus should not only be on energy and detergent consumption. The towel itself also suffers from constant washing and drying. If the exchange frequency is reduced, the lifespan of the terry products is extended – they need to be replaced less often. This is a significant plus for the environment.
High seam-slip resistance ensures stability
In the laundry, towels wear out primarily at the seams. Not so with Floringo: even after 200 wash cycles, the towels show no significant signs of wear – a result confirmed by an independent institute. The construction is key: a dense base fabric with an optimized number of weft threads gives the towels high seam-slip resistance. This keeps the threads in place despite the mechanical stress in washing and drying drums; the seams do not loosen.
Ring-spun yarns for long-term hold
The exceptional durability begins with the yarn construction. Floringo exclusively uses ring-spun yarns in the base fabric. The high twist of parallel cotton fibers creates yarns with high strength – indispensable for hotel terry that must survive countless washing and drying cycles.
Double-stitched for better durability
The finishing is also designed for longevity. The longitudinal sides of the towels are double-stitched, making them ideally prepared for the continuous load in commercial laundries. Tear-resistant yet elastic polyester threads, short stitch lengths, and locked edges provide additional stability. Precisely adjusted thread tension prevents puckering – ensuring that soap, hand, and shower towels remain dimensionally stable even after many washes.
Conventional designs do not pay off
Towels with single seams and long stitches are not suitable for continuous use in the hotel industry and laundries. They fray prematurely, have to be sorted out, and replaced – a significant cost factor despite a supposedly low purchase price. Professionally finished terry products are therefore the more economical and sustainable choice in the long run. After all, cutting corners in the wrong place eventually comes with a price that "washes you out"!
